THE RESCCUE RESILIENCE ASSESSMENT FRAMEWORK (RAF) AND ITS WEB-BASED TOOL, PRESENTED IN PARIS

The international online conference “Assessing Territorial Resilience: Indicators and Tools for Governance” took place 15th to 17th July in Paris. Maria Adriana Cardoso, researcher at the National Laboratory of Civil Engineering of Portugal and Maria João Telhado, Head of Environment and Energy Office at the Lisbon City Council, presented the keynote “Why and how we co-created the Resilience Assessment Framework, a diagnosis tool for cities and urban services as interdependent strategic sectors”, about the Resilience Assessment Framework-RAF, one of the RESCCUE’s main result and Lisbon in Action.

The RESCCUE project was briefly presented as well as the development of the RAF and the RAF app web-based tool to support the assessment, with a demo video. Maria João Telhado presented Lisbon in Action, including the RESCCUE Resilience Action Plan focusing in a global city, informed, inclusive, sustainable, resilient to climate change and designed for the future, that has some challenges to overcome.

The conference was held over three half-days, with over 550 registrations and about 185 participants, on average, per session. It involved 18 invited speakers from different backgrounds, from engineering to economy, philosophy, geography and psychology, giving valuable insights to this conference, organized by the Paris Institute for Advanced Study (IEA) and the Paris School of Urban Engineering (EIVP), partner of RESCCUE project.
